About this place
Just outside the ticket gates at JR Okachimachi Station, Milk Stand operates as a compact corner counter stocking bottled milk and dairy drinks from around Japan. Commuters and shoppers stop by on the move to grab an ice-cold glass bottle and drink it right there, keeping a classic station-front ritual alive.
The selection spans distinct regional bottles, from special milk made with 100% raw milk from Tottori Prefecture to rich Hida milk blended with fresh cream. Flavored options are just as prominent, including Daisen Oishii Café au Lait made with farm-specified unroasted beans and Tottori milk, as well as Daisen Fruit au Lait blending apple, banana, and peach juices. Hida milk flavored with orange or pineapple juice and various vegetable juices add plenty of variety depending on what you feel like drinking.
Because glass bottles are collected for reuse, staff pop the bottle cap off at the counter so customers can finish their drink on the spot and return the empty bottle. In colder months, bottles warmed in hot water are sometimes available, and some patrons pair a drink with sweet bakery buns for a quick bite. With vending machines standing right alongside, it makes a convenient pit stop for a fast sip during transit.
